Before a telecommunication equipment is imported or used in Indonesia , the equipment shall be certified in advanced. The certification is intended to guarantee the interoperability and interworking among equipments, to avoid interference between equipments, protect consumers from being disadvantaged of telecommunication equipment use and to push technology innovation and national industry. The certification of the telecommunication equipment before being imported or used can avoid loss for the party who import or use the equipment, particularly in entry points in Indonesia . Imported equipment will be checked by the Indonesia Custom. If the equipment is not accompanied by a certificate, the equipment will be withheld by the custom and can not be entered to Indonesia .

Each type of telecommunication equipment shall take into consideration of comply with the technical regulation applicable to Indonesia , either wireline or wireless equipment.

Certification process shall take place maximum 30 days. It consists of 3 days for checking the application terms and conditions, 21 days for equipment test and 6 days for evaluation of the test report and the issuance of the certificate. but we can make it faster if you wish so

The tariff / fee of the certification is based on the Government Rules No. 27/2005 and 28/2005. Certitication tariff consists of two fees which are certificate fee and testing fee (test conducted by SDPPI Test House). Testing fee conducted by Telkom Risti Bandung is determined by Telkom Risti Bandung.

Yes, the certificate holder shall attach label (mark) on the certified equipment. For the purpose of the monitoring, label shall also be attached on the equipment boxes. The label is a mark that the equipment complies with the technical regulation in Indonesia . The purpose is intended to guarantee for consumers and monitoring by the Directorate General of SDPPI in the market.
 
Yes, eventhough an equipment is already granted an international certificate, the equipment shall be certified to comply with the Indonesia technical regulation.
 
The implementation of the MRA is between Indonesia and Singapore on the field of mutual recognizion on test report of analogue telephone set. Certification pursuant to MRA, besides other terms and conditions applicant shall attach the test report from an accredited test lab. The equipment shall not be tested by Indonesia test house. but the MRA had expired, now DG SDPPI has been revising the ministry rule about Foreign testing lab recognition ( Ministry Decree : 16/2011)
